Yeah I know I haven't updated my blog for awhile..There were a lot of things going on and I was just too lazy to even think about what to post. Anyway, lately there have been a rash of new New Moon sneak peeks and I thought I'd pile them all onto one post for those New Moon fanatics like me!

On my way to work this morning I passed by all the Kent teachers scattered around the Kent schools holding up signs that said. "No Contracts, no school"..Well something like that. Let's hope they can come to an agreement so that the kids (like my little sister and relatives that go to Kent schools) can go back to school on Monday.

So mostly everyone have probably heard about Farmville, the facebook game online where you can grow crops, raise animals, harvest, and make a whole lotta $$$.

I finally decided to join the whole "farmville" madness and now I'm hooked. I find myself checking the clock to make sure I'm not late in harvesting my crops, and wanting to make more $$$. I'm working on getting myself a tractor that costs $30,000 and expanding my farm.

I sound like a nerd. Anyway, whenever you're bored, try it!

We are heroes- "Single Ladies" (They took the song to a whole another level, and this was probably one the most creative performances of the night!)

Rhythm City- "Sweet Dreams" (I thought they could've done more with their "charleston" challenge but their performance was solid)

Massive Monkeys- "Work it out" (They got the worst challenge of the night, having to perform with hoola hoops, made the most of it, and was the most entertaining performance of the night)

Vogue- "Deja Vu" (This crew is just so unique and different, it's hard not to like them)

Rhythm City- they easily had the best performance of the night, and quickly became my favorite.

Massive Monkeys (B-boy crew from Seattle)- I like them. I don't know that I love them. I wanna root for them because they are from Seattle, but I think they will need to prove that they can be versatile in the coming weeks ahead.

We are Heroes- Their outfits reminded me a little bit of Fanny Pak, but these girls are flexible, and they can dance.

Southern Movement- I don't like the hats, the beginning of their performance was a little blah, but as it went on, they showed that they can do all types of dances, all in one performance.

Vogue Evolution
I don't really know but I like this crew. They are fierce, and just different. I think they'll do well in the Beyonce challenge next week!

The dragon is always a sight to see at the parade.

Love the horses too! Except they smell a little.

Overall the parade was great, just like it always is every year. It rained for a few minutes, but everything was great! I also got a free shirt from one of the pirates, stickers, and lots of candy! Lol. I wish there was a picture of some of the pirates! They kick ass!

UPDATE 2: Komo news is reporting that 103 degrees is the highest temp so far today, the hottest day in Seattle. I guess the temp in my car was a little off.

The fam and I made a last minute decision to go and float down the river last weekend and it was so much fun! I swear I felt like I was in "Survior" or something! It was pretty wild! Some of us fell out a few times and flipped over. There were so many logs that kept poppin' up out of nowhere, we got stuck a couple of times and battled it out with the gosh darn branches. We started with 4 paddles and ended with 1 and 1/2. We finished in 3+ hours and it felt like a great accomplishment!

I have not seen a romantic comedy this good for quite awhile and this movie left me completely satisfied! It was so good that I am posting an entry about it!

It was funny, cute, sad (yeah it made me cry), romantic, just everything that you need for a perfect romantic comedy movie! It wasn't corny or cheesy, it was just right. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds have an amazing chemistry (even though she is probably twice his age in real life) and both delivered great performances.

Let me just say that even guys will laugh because it really is a funny movie with a great love story!

This is a perfect "date" movie- one that both people will enjoy!

After 5 years of driving my first car, it finally took a big enough hit that led to my decision of purchasing a new car instead of repairing it. My 2002 Mazda Protege went through a lot during those 5 years--I've been hit many times, and I had some things fixed a couple of times. After all that, I still never reached 100,000 miles on it. Now it's just sitting outside my house waiting to be sold to someone who might be willing to fix it.

The day some stupid lady hit my car. Yes, it was her fault!

They cut out a big chunk for damage estimation purposes.

You can only imagine the stress one goes through when they get hit by a car, and well I'm apparently accident prone and I was stressed for week dealing with the insurance companies and the car shop, etc.. But at the end of it all, I got a new 2009 Subaru Impreza hatchback and I couldn't be happier.

This sounds stupid but I always thought minesweeper was a simple guessing game that I could never finish.

After downloading the game on my iPhone I started to play it again just for fun but I still kept getting the mines! Finally I started to really look at the game and thought to myself, "there's gotta be a way to finish!"

Anyway, I decided to google it and also went on you tube to learn how to actually play it. Turns out it's a strategic mind game that's not so simple at all. If you don't know how to play it and you're curious look it up.

Working out, getting fit, and having fun!

I have been contemplating for a long time whether or not to join 24 hour fitness and finally with the push from my boyfriend, we signed up a few weeks ago.

Most people say that I don't need to be working out because I'm small, skinny, blah blah blah. Guess what? I do need to work out. I don't do it because I want to lose weight, but for my own health benefit.

Not a lot of people know this but I never used to get sick. I was one of those people who would be surrounded by sick people but never caught their sickness. What I realized is that was before when my job required me to move around pretty much all day. I did lots of physical labor: fast walking, carrying boxes, shelving books most of my shifts which was all physical. But ever since my job position changed, it now requires me to just sit on my butt and in front of the computer pretty much all day. It might sound weird but I really feel like that's when I started to get sick more often.

I knew that I was lacking "exercise" and I needed to be more active not only to tone up, gain muscles (not too much though), but to boost my immune system and just feel healthier and better about myself. I'm not saying that I'll never get sick again but I know that being physically fit and active would help maintain my health.

Ever since I joined the gym, I am proud to say that even though I have been sore, I still get sore, I keep going, I wanna keep going and I feel great! And it's fun to work out!

So why 24 hour fitness?

What's great about 24 hour fitness is that it is open for 24 hours. For someone like my boyfriend and I who are not "morning" people, it's awesome because we would normally go after work, at night and we don't feel like we have to rush because they would be closing soon. Also, I am a people person and while some may not like that the gym has too many people in it, I love it! It just gets me more pumped up and makes me want to work out more because I see everyone around me doing the same thing!

I also like (they also probably offer them at other gyms) the free group classes that they offer. So far I have been taking Zumba classes and I just tried the dancer's workout class last night. They are lots of fun but they also really make you work your butt off and break a sweat! I think these classes are great adds to anyone's normal daily workout routine.

The one I go to is a Super Sport club so it's pretty big. You really never have to wait for a machine because they have so many (except there is this one abs machine I really like but everyone else seem to really like so sometimes I have to wait for that particular one) and you just have so many options that you can do! They have the pool, sauna, steam room, full basketball court and even tanning rooms. Cool huh?

My Sister's Keeper movie trailer!

For those who don't know, My sister's keeper is based on the novel written by Jodi Picoult, which is one of my favorite books of all time! I can't wait till this comes out!

So it looks like our president and his family finnally decided on a dog! His name is Bo, a 6-month old Portuguese water dog! How cute is he?

I'm not too familiar with this breed so I went ahead and looked it up and here is what I found:

1) fairly rare breed
2) Also known as "Portie"
3) does not shed its hair
4) curly coat or wavy coat
5) quiet dog but warn when house is approached
6) loving, intelligent, easy to train
7) capable of learning complex tasks

Even though I love Kris Allen and he is also my favorite, Adam is just absolutely flawless whenever he performs on that stage. Ever since Twilight came out, more and more people have been comparing the Twilight series to the Harry Potter series. Personally, I think both series are so different from each other that it isn't fair to compare them. However it's always fun to hear what the Harry Potter/Twilight fans have to say.

So..guess what?

I can't believe it, but the Central Library is hosting a formal debate this Saturday (March 21st) about which fantasy series is better. Seattle's group of teens from Team Read will be voicing out their opinions on why they think Harry is better than Edward and vice versa. I don't think they'll be holding back either.

I wish it was at the library I work at then that way I can maybe sneak a peek but I'll miss it since I work that day..darn..I hope the Twilighters win!

So I said I wasn't going to be disappointed if Quest won, but I guess I lied. I was really sad, more sad than I thought I would be. I really wanted Beat Freaks to win! I guess America didn't have the same opinion.

Congratulations to Quest crew for winning ABDC 3! I do think they worked just as hard as Beat Freaks so I have nothing against them. Still, it would have been nice to see my favorite crew win, although I have a feeling that I will be seeing more of them in the future!

¡Hermoso Cancun!

As most of you probably now know, Ray and I made a very last minute "spur of the moment" decision to go to Cancun a couple weeks ago. The flight was booked the night before, about 5-6 hours before the flight! For those who haven't been there, it is a beautiful place!

They have nice beaches, nice restaurants, and of course a whole lotta partying at night! Even though Cancun is known for the grand night life, it's a place where all kinds of people can enjoy! I saw not just college kids over there but couples, families and lots of them with kids just soaking in the sun and enjoying themselves! So don't let it's name (Cancun) fool you to thinking it's just for party goers, there is definitely something for everyone there.

If you decide to visit Cancun, you should brush up on some of those Spanish words you might have learned in High school. All I really knew how to say while I was there was "Hola", "Gracias", and "Adios"

Tips:

- Do not try to bargain at the flea markets. These people know how to hustle and will sell things for a lot more than if you buy them at regular stores
- Bring a couple of light sweaters for night time (especially if you get cold easily like I do.) It gets really windy there during the night.
- Don't forget to reapply sunscreen throughout the day. You don't wanna get a sunburn. Trust me you really don't.
- You got to try jet skiing there! Their beaches have big, big waves and they're a lot of fun to jet ski in! Especially when you go super fast!
- It is a lot cheaper for you to pay with pesos instead of dollars. The bank is the best place to trade in your bills or to get $$ out from your card because they have the highest rates. Do not get $$ out from the airport, their rates are low. Depending on where you go, the rates can range from $12-$15 pesos for every $1 you have.
- If you're gonna hit the party scene at night, be prepared to spend a lot of $$$. One club can cost you up to $40 per person (it's in U.S. dollars) just to get in.

We rented a scooter for most of our trip! It was well worth it! If you go there, you should definitely rent one of these! It's fun and you can go everywhere! Yes, he rode it in the sand!

We stayed at Fiesta Americanas Condesa Resort Hotel. It wasn't the biggest but it stood out from the rest because of this gigantic hut in front of the hotel.

La Isla shopping center. It reminded me of Venice because of the water in the middle.

Chicken Fajitas and Jambalaya.. Their fajitas there are 10x better than the ones they serve here.

Strawberry margarita and beer. I drank Margaritas for like the whole trip. My favorite was the Guava one.

They let us draw on the table at Carlos 'n Charlies, the livest restaurant I have ever dined at. There was loud music, and the waiters danced, sang, and did skits for the guests!

Looks like she's filming a new movie called "Salt" which has a really interesting plot.

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura talked about the movie to USA Today and said, “People who think they know the real her may or may not. Those who think they can tell whether she’s in a disguise also may or may not. You’re supposed to be kept guessing. She tells you her agenda, but are you supposed to believe it?”

Angelina plays Evelyn Salt and I guess in the movie you're supposed to be finding out who is the real "Salt"

Beat Freaks or Quest?

I really love both crews, but I still would love for Beat Freaks to win! Everyone keeps saying that Quest dominated the last show but when I finally saw it I didn't think they were as "tight" as everyone made them sound. I mean they were very good, but I thought Beat Freaks were also very good. I will admit that Beat Freaks had better performances in the past but nonetheless their performance was clean and solid.

Personally, Quest crew's last performance reminded me too much of the Jabbawockeez and Super Crew combined and because I am such a big fan of those two crews, I couldn't really help but think that Quest might have been trying to channel a little bit of their styles to win over those crew's fans. That's just my opinion though.

I think that it's time for a change. It's time for a crew like Beat Freaks (not just because they are females) who have shown the different types of dances that they can do and have consistently shown how versatile they are--it's time for a crew like them to win!

P.S.
I would not be completely disappointed if Quest crew wins because they are a great crew, but still..BF ftw! :)

For .99 cents you can download this game app on your iphone and it's a darn good price! I saw Ray playing this and I completely got hooked! If you love puzzle games this is one you should try!

Objective: Figure out where all the different size puzzle pieces fit! The running man above was pretty easy but there are some challenging ones.

Even though I'm not a big baseball fan, I'm pretty psyched to know that Ken Griffey Jr. is coming back to Seattle! Any one of our Seattle sports teams need any positivity they can get and this is definitely great news for the Seattle Mariner fans!

Over the past couple of days, there have been news of Griffey signing with Atlanta so it's a nice surprise to see that he's actually signing with the Mariners!

So there you go Atlanta, we got him and you didn't! Now if the Mariners can just win some games!

Ohhhh..and maybe I'll actually go to a baseball game this time around!

Valentine's Day at Palisade

Since it was a couple's day, Ray and I went on a triple date with our "couple" friends and ate at the beautiful restaurant by the marina called Palisade.

If you haven't been to Palisade yet, you need to go there at least once. It was my second time going there on Valentine's Day and I was not disappointed. It's a great restaurant for special occasions so if you want to take a lady out for her birthday, or anniversary, etc. take her here and she'll love it!

I'm not the greatest at reviews but all I can say is that the food over at Palisade tastes so good you'll want to come back there. Sure it's pricy, but well worth it! I had the Surf, Surf, and Surf entree ($49) for Vday and it was superb! The entree included scallop on caviar, crab cake, and lobster with sauces. The scallop I had was the BEST I have ever tasted. I have no idea what they put in it but it was so tasty! I loved it all! From what I gathered from my friends, their food was also really good!

Not only their food is excellent there, the two times I have ate there I have been impressed with their customer service. Their waiters are always very efficient, and unlike most restaurants, even though you are assigned one waiter, other waiters will ask how you are doing and if you need anything. They are very courteous, and they make you feel like a true "valued" customer. Not once did I ever have to ask them to refill my water because the waiter made sure to refill everyone's glass even when our glasses are only half empty. Seriously, the staff there just make you feel special! And considering it was Vday and there were many customers, they did an incredible job dealing with the madness.

Look to spend over $100 per couple if you are going to dine there, but it's definitely worth every penny.

Too close to home

I watch and hear about people being killed all the time on the news, but this one just happened way too close to home. Two people, a couple in their 60's were found dead in their home yesterday at the 124th Ave. S.E. block in Kent. The police reported that it was a homicide. This morning they arrested the son of the couple who seems to be the killer.

A Seattle Times article reported that the son had a drug addiction problem and other mental problems. He had been staying with his parents but was not home when the bodies were found.

This is just sad, and not to mention scary. I mean this was really close to my house.

UPDATE: 43 year old Vincent W. Housley, the son and suspected killer is now being held on $2 million dollar bail. Apparently, it was an argument between him and his parents that probably caused the violence that occured.

ABDC 3: The Britney Challenge

As I have mentioned time and time again, it's all about consistency and versatility. The crew who is the most consistent, creative, and versatile is the crew that usually wins the whole thing.

My top 3 crews of the night!

1) Beat Freaks owned this challenge. I was really surprised and impressed by the way these ladies performed because there was no breaking in that performance, it was all Britney, real sexy, and straight up dance (no tricks)! They definitely showed that they are versatile, and they are not just a b-girl crew. They did Britney Spears' Womanizer justice! They completely blew me away with this performance! They earned my vote and I am leaning towards them as my favorite!

2) Strikers All-stars
These steppers are full of energy and they can do so much more than just stepping. This performance was really creative and probably the most difficult considering they had to mirror each other and they did it PERFECTLY. I love these guys!

Their performance last night was probably the most fun because these guys showed what great sense of humor they have! I really loved the part when they just let loose and danced like Britney! They are a solid crew just like Beat Freaks and Strikers All-Stars.

Will it be the Cardinals or Steelers?

It's almost that time again! This year it's the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals going to the 43rd Superbowl.

I have been impressed with what the Cardinals have done in the post season. I'm still in a bit of shock because like a lot of other people, I didn't think they would even make it past the first round. It's like they are a completely different team now, and in a good way.

On the other hand the Steelers have been great all season and during the post season. They have always been a great team and it's not surprising that they are back in the Superbowl again.

I would love to see the Cardinals win, but I think the Steelers are ultimately going to take the trophy once again. Of course I could be totally wrong! As we have seen in the past, the team that nobody thinks is going to win--usually wins!

Who do you think will win?

Well regardless of who comes out on top I have a real good feeling that it's going to be a great game and I can't wait to watch because I am finally off on a Superbowl Sunday!

P.S.
I am little worried about the Seahawks next season because if the Cardinals are going to be as good in the fall, it would be tough for the Hawks to get past them. But who knows what can happen right?

I found Darna! My superhero from the Philippines!

I stopped by Fairwood library for the first time so I could pick up my holds and I found my superhero from my childhood! Yeah a lot of you probably have no idea who Darna is because she was a superhero created in the Philippines.

I remember when I was little and still living in the Philippines, I saw the movie and I wanted to be like her! So she turns into "Darna" when she swallows a stone (that's how I remember it) and I remember trying to find a special stone for days! I seriously thought If I swallowed one special stone that I could become Darna too! Weird huh?

I don't think I ever did find a stone..LOL

Anyway, I haven't seen this since I was a kid and frankly I don't remember a whole lot about it, how she transformed was what really stuck to me. I wonder if I'll still feel the same way after I watch it again. I didn't even remember that there was a second movie. This is that movie and sadly the library doesn't carry the first one.

President Barack Obama- Inauguration Day

I woke up early this morning just so I could watch Barack Obama take the oath and become the 44th president of the United States. And what a sight it was! I wish I was there with the thousands of people who stood in the cold just to hear Obama speak! It would have been amazing!

Watching it on my television, I suddenly felt happy, proud, and just excited! I found myself smiling the whole time Obama was taking his oath. Just like a lot of people, I truly believe that our country is headed in the right direction. This is definitely a day to remember, and one that many would be talking about for a very long time.

Here is the most touching and most memorable part of his speech:

"This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed -- why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent Mall, and why a man whose father less than 60 years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath." -Barack Obama Inaugural address

ABDC Season 3- first impressions

My predicted winner:
Beat Freaks (Shane said he believes the winner will be an all girl crew this season)

My Top 3 based on last night's performances:
1)Beat Freakz- These ladies were the most impressive from last night's show!
2)Quest- Hok, Ryan and Dominic from "So you think you can dance" are members of this crew

3)Dynamic Edition (cloggers) - They were surprisingly good, mixing clogging with a bit of hip hop, we just need to see how they do with the challenges

Crew that has potential:
Strikers All-stars (They are steppers- I really liked that they were in sync, hard to do when they had so many fast moves)

Weakest performances:
Fly Khicks (They're like a bootleg version of Fish N Chicks)

Ringmasters (They were just weird and a little scary to watch, I can't believe Lil' Mama cried about their performance, just cuz they're from her hometown..I was dyin!)

2 Crews I expected a lot more from because of what I've been hearing about them:

I still like these 2 crews so I'm hoping they do a lot better in the coming weeks with the challenges.

Overall the premiere was alright. I was a little disappointed because I thought the crews would be a lot better, but as always it was the first show, and hopefully everybody picks it up next week!

Well it's what they always say right?

This is a little late but I finally thought of something that I can work on for this year! I guess it would be my new years resolution. Here's what I came up with...

There are times when I just say things without thinking. In fact, I think this happens a lot. I never really realize what comes out of my mouth until after I have said it and then I think to myself, "Why in the world did I have to say that?" I know this about myself and I have kind of just accepted it. But I realized that I can probably improve on this. I'd like to make an effort to try and keep some of my opinions and things to myself. I'm talking about things that don't really have to be said--- unnecessary things.

I know that sometimes I give people the wrong impression because of what I say, so I'd really like to work on that. I need to learn to just think twice sometimes about what I'm going to say to somebody before I say it.

It's going to be tough..I promised myself to try. So there..

Here we go, now it's the porn industry that is supposedly losing money and requesting for bailout from the Congress...

According to a CNN article, Larry Flynt (Hustler publisher) and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis are requesting for a 5 billion dollar bailout for their companies.

I wonder if they will even take this seriously. Who cares about the porn industry? Yeah good for entertainment (for some people and definitely not me) but it won't be the end of the world if they went out of business. These people are just trying to get their hands on some free $$$! I say it's BULL****!

Seahawks 2009 opponents

With this season over for the Hawks, I am already looking forward to next season hoping that the team will do a lot better. Then I see who they will be playing against...

Yikes! Looks like they have some tough opponents yet again next season. It sure doesn't get any easier for the Hawks! We'll just have to see how everything turns out. Maybe some of these playoff teams like (Tennessee Titans or Dallas) this season won't even be as great next year- who knows?

I'm anxious to see what happens during the off season, to see who stays, who goes, and who gets picked up. I'd like to see what Jim Mora can do as head coach, although I will miss Holmgren dearly.
